
Jr. Streetkings Fall Season Rolls in Following 'Learn to Play' Camp

HERNANDO, Miss. - The Jr. StreetKings Roller Hockey Program will host a "ËLearn to Play' camp Monday, July 30 through Thursday, August 2 as a kick off to the 2012 Fall League. The camp will run from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. nightly and will cost $25. RiverKings staff as well as members of the University of Memphis club hockey team will be instructing camp participants on the basics of roller skating. Over the course of the four evening clinic, skaters will be divided into groups based on experience level and age rotating between station. Each session ends with a scrimmage or game designed to focus on specific skills learned that day. Jr. StreetKings is a roller hockey league for youth ages 4 to 14 years old, and is directed by Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach Derek Landmesser. Jr. StreetKings hosts all of its practices, games and events, at the outdoor roller rink on the grounds of the Hernando Civic Center (3800 Robertson Gin Road).
Registration is still open and underway for the 2012 Jr. StreetKings Fall League which starts Monday, August 13 with player evaluations, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Hernando Civic Center roller rink.
The Jr. StreetKings league registration fee is $100 per participant. Players must provide their own equipment (league scholarships are available).
