Mississippi Surge News Release
The Mississippi Surge will open the 2012-13 Southern Professional Hockey League season at home on Saturday, October 27 against the Pensacola Ice Flyers.
The SPHL has released its schedule, which again has all nine teams playing a total of 56 games. The Surge will have 21 of its 28 home games on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. There are also two Tuesday and Thursday dates, and three Wednesday home dates for the Surge at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
Pensacola will visit the Surge six times, the most of any opponent. Those two teams will play a total of 12 times, and the Surge will also play the Louisiana IceGators a total of 12 times, (five home and seven away).
On two different occasions, the Surge will have three game homestands, and will have two five game road trips. Seven times this season, the Surge will play three games in three days.
