
SPHL President Signed Through 2014-2015 Season

CHARLOTTE, NC (July 17, 2012) - The Southern Professional Hockey League today announced the league's Board of Governors has unanimously extended the contract of President Jim Combs through the 2014-2015 season.
"Jim has done a tremendous job over the past several years in establishing the SPHL as a premier destination for players who want to pursue a professional hockey career," stated Chairman of the Board Tim Kerr. "His efforts in expanding the status of the SPHL, both on and off the ice, have resulted in new expansion opportunities while maintaining a business model that greatly benefits our member clubs."
The Southern Professional Hockey League, which will begin its ninth season of play in October, is comprised of nine teams:
The Augusta (GA) RiverHawks, Columbus (GA) Cottonmouths, Fayetteville (NC) FireAntz, Huntsville (AL) Havoc, Knoxville (TN) Ice Bears, (Lafayette) Louisiana IceGators; (Southaven) Mississippi RiverKings; (Biloxi) Mississippi Surge and Pensacola (FL) Ice Flyers.
