The Jr. Blues are back on familiar ice this weekend as they take on the Topeka Roadrunners Friday and Saturday night at the Nelson Center. The team is excited to be home the next two weekends as they have been on the road four out of the first five weekends of the season. The team was in Flint, MI last weekend where they earned a split which puts them at 7-4-1 in second place of the North Division.
Jr. Blues Win in Shootout
Lekkas Stops 38 Shots
The Jr. Blues found a way to win as they won 2-1 in a shootout on Friday night.
The Jr. Blues struck first on the power-play as Oliver Takacsi-Nagy scored in the first period.
The game would remained tied until the third period when the Warriors scored less than 2 minutes into the period. The Warriors gave the Jr. Blues all they could handle, outshooting them 39-19 in the game.
The Jr. Blues found success in the shootout as Brendan Jacques would score in the 9th round of the shootout and Stefanios Lekkas would seal the deal stopping all 9 Warrior shooters.

Michigan Wins 4-1
The Jr. Blues got on the board first as Nick Belger scored a great shot on a 1-1.
However it was all Warriors from there as they scored 2 goals late to head into the first intermission winning 2-1. The Jr. Blues hung in there until the third period when the Warriors struck twice to
Sandro Aeschliman stopped 35 of 39 shots in the 4-1 loss.

Topeka Visits Springfield
The Jr. Blues play Topeka Roadrunners Friday and Saturday 10/25-26th at 7:05 pm at the Nelson Center. The Jr. Blues defeated the Roadrunners 4-3 in both contest in Topeka in September.
Friday night, the Jr. Blues have partner with Zeta Tau Alpha to raise money for Susan G Koman Foundation that is dedicated to the education and research about cause, treatment, and search for a cure. Zeta Tau Alpha is selling tickets with a portion of the tickets proceeds going to Susan G Koman. The team will be wearing special pink warmup jerseys that are being sold at the merchandise stand throughout the game. Also, the first 250 fans will receive a key chain curtesy of Standard Aero.
Saturday's night, the Jr. Blues will be celebrating Halloween as fans are encouraged to come dressed up in their costumes. There will be a costume contest along with a chance for our young fans to trick or treat the Jr. Blues players after the game.

Coach Zasowski Hosts weekly Coaches Show
The Jr. Blues have once again partnered with Neuhoff Media to spotlight the team and keep fans informed of team doings.
Bondsy's Hockey Stool : The Jr. Blues will do a featured player of the week that will visit Kiss FM's Morning show every Wednesday of home weekends at 8:30 am. The show will Feature Coach Tony Zasowski and a Select Jr. Blue including a 10 question rapid fire by Bondsy.
Behind the Bench with Coach Zow
This is a new 15 minute radio segment where Host Andrew Harby and Coach Tony Zasowski will talk in depth about the Jr. Blues.
