CARY, N.C. - Carolina RailHawks midfielder Joseph Kabwe was named to the USL-1 Team of the Week, the USL announced Tuesday.

Kabwe's performance against Puerto Rico last Saturday night was nothing short of spectacular as he recorded an assist and created havoc for the Puerto Rico defense.

This is the 28th time a RailHawk earns Team of the Week or Player of the Week honors this season and the third time Kabwe receives an accolade from the league. Just two weeks ago Kabwe was named Player of the Week for his performance against Miami.

Kabwe got his assist against the Islanders in the second minute when he passed the go ahead ball over to Gregory Richardson who proceeded to find the back of the net for the 1-0 lead.

Kabwe continued to lead the team in the midfield setting up plays for his teammates as well as almost getting on the board himself.

"Every time I get a chance to play I do my best to help my teammates," said Kabwe. "It was a great feeling to beat Puerto Rico."

Fans will have a chance to cheer on Kabwe and the RailHawks (15-7-7) as they defend their second place in the standings against the Montreal Impact on Friday, September 18 at WakeMed Soccer Park at 7 p.m. For tickets and information visit www.carolinarailHawks.com or call the LGFCU Box Office at 919-859-KICK (5425).
