Week 23 USL-1 honors announced

TAMPA, FL -- United Soccer Leagues announced the Team of the Week honors for the 23rd week of the USL season, honoring Rochester's Johnny Menyongar as the USL First Division Player of the Week.
The Rochester Rhinos maintained their perfect postseason attendance in their 14-year history by clinching a playoff berth Tuesday evening with a 2-1 victory on the road over the Miami FC Blues courtesy of strikes from Johnny Menyongar.
The diminutive Liberian striker gathered a pass from Ze Roberto midway into the Miami half, turned and drove 15 yards before letting loose a 30-yard shot into the far upper corner in the 31st minute of the match for the initial lead.
Six minutes after Miami leveled terms, Menyongar made a perfect run into the box, meeting up with a low Tiger Fitzpatrick cross from the left flank and one-timing it past Pat Hannigan for what stood as the winner.
The two goals put Menyongar into a three-way tie for the league-lead in goals scored with 11 on the season. He is tied with Portland's Mandjou Keita and Vancouver's Charles Gbeke.
