CLEVELAND, Ohio - Goalkeeper Evan Bush and midfielder Jason Hotchkin have been named to the USL First Division team of the week for week 23 for their part in helping the City Stars defeat the first place Portland Timbers on the road over the weekend. The award is the second of the season for both players.

Bush, a rookie out of the University of Akron, recorded eight saves to notch his first career victory in league play and his second shutout in his past three starts. The native of Concord, Ohio has a 1.166 goals against average on the season in six starts. Bush was previously named to the team of the week in week 17 for a four-save shutout against the defending champion Vancouver Whitecaps.

The veteran Hotchkin, in his second year in Cleveland, secured the victory for the City Stars with an expertly placed goal off a free kick. The midfielder continued his fine play in the final portion of the season. Hotchkin has recorded two goals and one assist in the past five matches after missing much of the season with a leg injury. Hotchkin was previously named to the team of the week in week 20 after registering a goal against Montreal and an assist in a 1-0 victory over Minnesota.

"Evan and Jason both played well for us and they deserve the recognition," said City Stars head coach Rod Underwood. "Evan has played well when he's been called upon and he came up with some big saves for us to earn the shutout and Jason really executed that set piece perfectly and put a great strike on the ball. It was good to get a big win in a tough environment and we'll have to come back with the same intensity on Thursday."

The City Stars continue the season-ending road trip Thursday at 10 p.m. in Portland before finishing out the season Friday at 11 p.m. against Vancouver in a nationally televised Fox Soccer Channel broadcast.
