Jose Goes from Osprey to Hawks

MISSOULA, MONT. -- The phrase "one and done" is fairly common in sports. But in the case of pitcher Jose Jose, it might be appropriate to say "one and gone."

The Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday promoted Jose from Missoula to the South Bend Silver Hawks of the Class A Midwest League, after the left-hander made just one appearance in an Osprey uniform.

Jose earned the save in Thursday night's 8 -7 Opening Day victory over the Helena Brewers at Ogren Park Allegiance Field, allowing one hit and striking out two in a scoreless 9th inning.

The 22-year old Jose is in his fourth professional season. The native of Santo Domingo, DR played in the Dominican Summer League in 2010 and 2011, and spent last season at Short-Season Class A Yakima. He has a career record of 6-8, with two saves and a 2.18 ERA.

The Osprey are in Great Falls for a two-game series against the Voyagers. The Pioneer League North Division rivals will play at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22 and again at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23.

The O's return home for a two -game set with the Billings Mustangs on Monday, June 24 and Tuesday, June 25. Game time both nights is slated for 7:05 p.m. at Ogren Park Allegiance Field.
