Jose Canseco to Visit Harlingen Field

HARLINGEN - United League Baseball's Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings announced today that Laredo Broncos designated hitter, former American League MVP, American League Rookie of the Year, six-time All-Star, four-time Silver Slugger and two-time World Series Champion Jose Canseco will travel with the Broncos to face the WhiteWings next week at Harlingen Field.

Canseco will be with the team on Monday when the two clubs play a make-up of a rainout from June 29 at 7:05 p.m. Gates open at 6:05. That game is the first game of a five-game series that runs through Friday as the WhiteWings conclude the home portion of their regular season schedule.

Tickets range from $4-to-$8 and can be purchased online at whitewingsbaseball.com, by calling the WhiteWings at 423-WING (9464) or at the Harlingen Field box office daily starting at 1:00 p.m.

Season ticket holders can pick up their tickets to Monday's game at the will-call window on the day of the game. Coupons and ticket from past games will only be honored for Monday and Tuesday's games on the day of the games. Fans can guarantee their seats to Monday and Tuesday's games by purchasing their tickets in advance.

"It's an exciting time. The phone has been ringing off the hook. We're expecting a sell-out, so we hope everyone realizes they need to get their tickets early," WhiteWings General Manager Cory Dirksen said.

In a 17-year Major League career, Canseco hit .266 with 462 home runs and 1,407 RBI.
