Tulsa Oilers linebacker Jordan Jones leaps for an interception

Tulsa, Okla. - Tulsa Oilers Football, proud member of the IFL, in conjunction with the IFL, announced Monday that Oilers' linebacker Jordan Jones has been awarded a spot on the 2023 All-Rookie Team.
Jones was a bright spot during the Tulsa Oilers' inaugural season. In fourteen games, the Tulsa linebacker led the IFL with 113, 17.5 ahead of the second-highest total.
Of the 113 tackles, 85 of them were solo, with an addition of two sacks, five pass breakups, and three interceptions to bolster the Oilers' rookie status.
"My expectations for him being the best are just that...it is what I expect, and what he expects out of himself," said Tulsa Oilers' head coach Marvin Jones. " He is a game changer and a leader, and it has been awesome having him for two seasons in my career, and he has been an All-Rookie selection in two leagues now."
Jones comes off a Defensive Rookie of the Year performance in 2022 with the Omaha Beef of the CIF, compiling 69 tackles, three being for loss, 1.5 sacks, a pass breakup, a blocked kick, and an interception. The Lawrenceville, Georgia native also played with the Green Bay Blizzard of the IFL in 2022, suiting up in two games and picking up three tackles.
Prior to his Beef and Blizzard career, the 6'1, 250 lbs. defensive standout played collegiately at the University of Western Alabama. The former Tiger made 211 tackles over 43 games, with 17 sacks, five forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.
