Jordan Horston Named to WNBA All-Rookie Team

SEATTLE - Seattle Storm forward Jordan Horston has been named to the 2023 WNBA All-Rookie Team as announced by the league today, becoming just the fourth player in franchise history to earn the honor.

Horston, a 6-2 forward from the University of Tennessee, posted solid numbers through her rookie campaign, averaging 6.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. She finished the season ranked second among WNBA rookies in steals and third in scoring, rebounding, and blocks, and was one 11 players to post those numbers or better in the league, and the only one to start fewer than 35 games. Horston is also the 13th player in WNBA history with those number or better through their first 36 career games, and only the seventh since 2000.

Horston had three double-doubles on the season including scoring 13 points and a season-high 14 rebounds on June 13 at Phoenix. That game marked her fourth-straight scoring in double-figures, matching the longest streak by a Storm rookie since 2015. She posted a season-high 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting, adding 10 rebounds and three steals at Atlanta on July 12.

Since the WNBA All-Rookie team began in 2005, the Storm has had just three players make the team: Jewell Loyd (2015), Ramu Tokashiki (2015), and Breanna Stewart (2016) with Loyd and Stewart earning Rookie of the Year honors.
