Jonathan Okafor Returns to United Through Loan with Atlanta Silverbacks

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (July 29, 2015) - Today, Arizona United SC and the Atlanta Silverbacks announced they agreed to terms on a loan agreement that sends midfielder Jonathan Okafor to Arizona. The loan will last for a month, with an option to extend.

"I know the system here and I'm definitely excited to just come in here, do well and help the team out," Okafor said. "Hopefully I can help them make that playoff push."

Okafor appeared in 28 matches (12 starts) for Arizona United SC in 2014. The midfielder scored four goals and notched an assist. His four goals were the second-highest total on the team.

With the Silverbacks this past spring, Okafor appeared in 11 matches, starting in 10 of them, and scoring a goal in 903 minutes of play.

"Jon has a good attitude and knows our system well," said Arizona United SC head coach Michael Dellorusso. "He's an explosive attacking player that will hopefully bring a little extra to our group. ... It won't take him long to get accustomed to what we're doing here. We look forward to having him produce for us."
