Johnson Promoted to Louisville

PENSACOLA, Fla., - The Cincinnati Reds have announced the following roster changes for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos prior to today's game against the Jacksonville Suns. RHP Jacob Johnson has been promoted to Triple-A Louisville while LHP Joel Bender has been promoted to Pensacola.

Johnson has gone 3-2 this season for the Blue Wahoos with a 4.88 ERA. HE's made three starts to go along with 19 relief appearances. In 51.2 innings of work, he's posted 24 strikeouts and 21 walks along with 29 runs (28 earned) and six home runs.

Bender, who played in two games for the Blue Wahoos in June, has a 4-2 record and a 3.84 ERA in 34 games between Louisville, Pensacola and Daytona. He's recorded 51 strikeouts this season and only 16 walks. Bender played in one game for Triple-A Louisville this season where he went 2.2 innings giving up five hits and no runs to earn the win on June 16.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos have 25 active players on the roster.

The Blue Wahoos returned home to play the Jacksonville Suns July 20-21 and the Biloxi Shuckers July 22-26.
