
Johnson Named Pitcher Of The Week

BOWIE, Md. - Baysox starter Steve Johnson was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sept. 7. Over his last two starts, the Baltimore, Md. native held Binghamton and Harrisburg to one run over 12.2 innings off seven hits and three walks while striking out 14. Johnson is the fourth Baysox starting pitcher to win the award this season, joining right-handers Jake Arrieta and Brandon Erbe, as well as lefty Brian Matusz.
Johnson made seven starts for the Baysox since being acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers organization in the George Sherrill trade, going 3-2 with a 2.84 ERA. After going 0-2 over his first four starts, Johnson recorded wins in each of his last three starts.
