Daytona Tortugas News Release

[DAYTONA BEACH, FL] - Jim Adduci has been named to the 2008 Florida State League All-Star Team. The All-Star roster was determined by selected Field Managers, Official Scorers and Club Sports Writers representing the various 12 teams in the FSL. Adduci is the first Daytona Cubs outfielder to be named an All-Star since Ryan Harvey was named in 2006. This year, Adduci is the lone representative from Daytona.

Adduci said he was both shocked and happy to be named. "It's nice when you put in hard work each game and see some success," Adduci said. He added that he's happy to represent the Daytona organization and that right now he's focused on coming out to the ballpark each day and helping his team as they make a push for the playoffs.

As of August 26, Adduci is batting .293 with 18 doubles, three triples, three homeruns and 43 RBIs. Adduci leads the Cubs with 63 walks, 126 hits, 26 stolen bases and 116 games played. Adduci was drafted by the Marlins organization in the 42nd round of the 2003 draft.

Adduci has been an integral part of the first place Cubs in 2008 and made himself a staple in centerfield in his time with Daytona this season. Track the Cubs path to the 2008 Florida State League Playoffs. For tickets call (386) 257-3172 or go to www.daytonacubs.com.
