August 27, 2008 - Florida State League (FSL1)
Sarasota Reds News Release

Sarasota, FL - Sarasota Reds Infielder Juan Francisco and outfielder Chris Heisey were named to the 2008 Florida State League post-season All-Star team Wednesday. The team was selected by the field managers, official scorers and club sports writers representing the 12 teams in the league.

Francisco, along with being a mid-season FSL All-Star and two-time FSL Player of the Week, currently ranks among league leaders in several offensive categories, including hits (2nd,142), doubles (2nd,34), slugging percentage (5th,.492), homeruns (3rd,22), runs batted in (2nd,91) and extra base hits (1st,61). He has already eclipsed the Sarasota franchise single season records for RBI and total bases and is fast approaching franchise records in homeruns and doubles. At the beginning of the 2008 season, Francisco was ranked as the Cincinnati Reds eighth best minor league prospect according to Baseball America.

Heisey has also been named to his second All-Star team of the 2008 season, joining Francisco on the mid-season All-Star team. Heisey was promoted to Double-A Chattanooga in early August and still ranks among Florida State League leaders in hits (6th,125), runs scored (2nd,77), doubles (4th,31), triples (4th,7), walks (6th,57) and stolen bases (4th,27). Chris was selected in the 17th Round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft from Messiah College in Grantham, Pennsylvania.

Francisco and Heisey become the first two Sarasota Reds selected to the post-season All-Star team in the four year history of the Reds in Sarasota. Manager Joe Ayrault was selected as a post-season All-Star coach in 2007.
