Janesville Jets News Release
JANESVILLE, WI - Friday, Feb. 18, 2022, will be Mike Holley Memorial Night at the Janesville Ice Arena when the Janesville Jets take on the Springfield Jr. Blues at 7 p.m.
Mike Holley was the father of three Janesville Youth Hockey skaters and a longtime volunteer with the club and at the ice rink. He passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 29, 2021, leaving behind his wife, LeAnne, and four children, Katlynn, Andie, Theron, and ShyAnne.
"Mike Holley was a larger-than-life personality and a fixture at the Janesville Ice Arena," says Jim Cole, who coaches Mike's daughter, Andie, on the Jr. Fury 14U girls team this season. "His passing is an unimaginable loss for the Holley family, but his legacy lives on through his family and their involvement in the local hockey community."
In recognition of Mike Holley Memorial Night, there will be a Jets jersey raffle and a 50/50 raffle. All money from the raffles and beer garden tips will be donated to the Mike Holley Memorial Fund. The Holley family will provide the ceremonial puck drop to start the game, and youngest daughter ShyAnne will be the flag bearer.
The first intermission will also feature two teams of JYH peewee players, including Mike's children, squaring off for a short hockey game.
The community is encouraged to come down to the rink for a good cause and some good hockey.
