Janesville Jets News Release

The Janesville Jets and Texas Roadhouse invite the community to `Skaters as Waiters', a special event to benefit United Way featuring Jets hockey players as guest servers. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, January 24 - 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Texas Roadhouse, 3201 Deerfield Drive in Janesville.

This is the third year of `Skaters as Waiters'. The unique fundraiser gives fans the opportunity to dine out, be served by Jets players, and support the community. Tips earned by the players will be donated to the United Way of North Rock County. In addition, Texas Roadhouse will contribute 10% of the evening's food sales.

"This is a fun event for the players and the community, and a great way for people to meet our team off the ice while supporting an important local organization," says Jets General Manager John McCally. "We are proud to partner with Texas Roadhouse and United Way. We know the money raised will help so many people in our community."

United Way campaign contributions are invested in local programs that address the community's greatest needs: helping youth achieve their potential, meeting people's basic needs and increasing their self-sufficiency, enhancing health and wellness, and strengthening families.
