Janesville Jets News Release

Janesville Jets star forward Pijus Rulevicius was selected to represent his native Lithuania in the 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) U20 World Championships (Division II) played December 12 -18 in Donetsk, Ukraine.

While playing for Lithuania, Rulevicius was third in goals and fourth in points overall in Group A for the tournament. He was the leading scorer on his team with 5 goals even though Rulevicius played in only 4 of the 5 games the Lithuanians competed.

Pijus scored a powerplay in the championship game versus Ukriane. Lithuania lost that game in overtime earning the silver medal. Rulevicius was named player of the game versus the Netherlands earlier in the tourney.

Currently Pijus is the Janesville Jets second leading scorer with 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 total points in 28 games. Rulevicius did not play in the Jets three-game sweep of the Chicago Hitmen this past weekend since he was playing at the World Junior Championships. Connor McBride and Jordan Bancroft are now the Jets leading scorers with 29 points.

The Janesville Jets (22-6-3) are off this weekend for the Christmas Holiday break and will return to Janesville Ice Arena on December 30th and 31st versus the Chicago Hitmen (6-23-1).
