Amarillo Bulls News Release
AMARILLO, TX - Members of the Amarillo Bulls were out giving back to their community on Sunday afternoon.
Several players were at the Ambassador Hotel and participated in the Panhandle Angels Foundation Christmas Party that benefits Children who have Cancer or other life threatening diseases.
Bulls' players signed autographs and took time to visit with the children and their families as part of the Christmas party.
"We were there saying hi to the children, helping them open their Christmas presents and getting to know their story a little bit," said Bulls' goaltender Mike Taffe. "There were a lot of hockey fans out there and they were all asking questions. It's great to give back to the community who supports us."
Defenseman Brandon Lubin said these activities are very important to be a part of.
"Even though we have had a tough travel schedule, this is an important time to give back," Lubin added.
Bulls Head Coach Dennis Williams thanked the guys for participating.
"We had autographs for everyone to sign and I heard it was a great success," Williams said. "That's one thing about our players is that they love to give back and be out there. On a day where some teams would rather rest and sleep, our guys took the time to attend. They (The Angels Foundation) could only take four or five guys with the numbers, but our whole team would have gone there in a heartbeat."
Hockey returns to the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center next Wednesday, Dec. 28 when the Amarillo Bulls entertain the Wichita Falls Wildcats at 7 pm. It will be the first game back for the Bulls after the Christmas break and the first of three games in four nights.
Tickets for the game can be purchased at The Bulls Office located at 301 South Polk, Suite 101, in the Amarillo Building, Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Outlets. For further information on group rates or Seven Game Flex Packs, please call the Bulls Office at 806-242-1122.
