NAHL Fresno Monsters vs. Dawson Creek Rage

The Fresno Monsters defeated the Dawson Creek Rage in Canada on Friday by a final score of 5-3. Fresno went 2-for-7 on the power play. The Monsters outshot the Rage 32-29.Sat., 12/17/2011 - Fresno Monsters 8, Dawson Creek Rage 5:
The Monsters finished the two-game series with the Dawson Creek Rage by a score of 8-5. Fresno went 2-for-4 on the power play and outshot Dawson Creek 44-29. The Monsters are on a 4-game winning streak.
NAHL PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
CHRIS BLESSING: Blessing was a huge factor in Friday's victory over the Dawson Creek Rage. He notched an even-strength goal and a power play goal, giving him two points and #1 star of the game Friday. Saturday he added an assist on the game-winning goal against the Rage.
RILEY BORER: Borer is tied for the team-leading high of 10 goals this season for the Monsters. He scored one goal on Friday. Saturday he had an unassisted goal and two assists, giving him a +3 rating for the evening and 3rd star of the game honors.
JEFFREY PAULUK: Pauluk had an assist in Friday night's game against the Dawson Creek Rage. Saturday he scored a shorthanded goal and added two assists. He finished the night with a +3 rating.

WSHL Monsters at WSHL Showcase - Las Vegas, Nevada
Sat., 12/17/11 - Monsters 3, Dallas Ice Jets 2: Saturday, the Monsters scored three-straight goals in the 2nd half to go on to defeat the Dallas Ice Jets by a score of 3-2. Three different goal scorers for Fresno contributed a power play goal, an even-strength goal, and the shorthanded game-winning goal. Goaltender Tom McGuckin stopped 34 of 36 Ice Jets' shots sealing the victory for the Monsters.
Sun., 12/18/11 - Monsters 3, Southern Oregon Spartans (Nor Pac) 2: Sunday, the Monsters had three-different goal scorers for the second-straight game, winning by the same margin of 3-2 against the Southern Oregon Spartans, the first-place team in the Northern Pacific Hockey League. Goaltender Marcus Harbison stopped 34 of 36 shots on goal by the Spartans.
Mon., 12/19/11 - Monsters 6, Seattle Totems (Nor Pac) 1: Monday, the Monsters rolled past the Northern Pacific Hockey League's number two team, the Seattle Totems, by a score of 6-1. Fresno's special teams were the difference in this game, going 3-for-7 on the power play and stopping both of Seattle's power play chances. Goaltender Tom McGuckin stopped 25 of 26 shots by the Totems.
Tues., 12/20/11 - Monsters 6, El Paso Rhinos 2: Tuesday, the Monsters defeated the El Paso Rhinos in impressive fashion by a score of 6-2 to finish the WSHL Showcase with a perfect 4-0 record.
WSHL PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
NICK McKEE: Captain Nick McKee led the charge for the Monsters and proved why he is the league's goal scoring leader and leader in most game-winning goals scored. Saturday he scored a shorthanded game-winning goal and assisted on the power play. He added one assist on Sunday and another on Monday. Tuesday he added another goal for Fresno.
TOM McGUCKIN: Goaltending was a huge factor in Fresno's four-game WSHL Showcase sweep this weekend. McGuckin was solid between the pipes for Fresno on Saturday against the Dallas Ice Jets, stopping 34 of 36 shots, including all 4 Ice Jets' power play chances. Monday he slammed the door on Seattle, stopping 25 of 26 shots on net. In two games he had a combined save percentage of .952.
MARCUS HARBISON: Harbison was stellar for Fresno in the WSHL Showcase against the Northern Pacific Hockey League's first-place Southern Oregon Spartans on Sunday, stopping 34 of 36 shots on net. Tuesday, he led the way to victory over the El Paso Rhinos by a final score of 6-2, stopping 26 of 28 shots on net. Both goals were scored on the power play for El Paso, one goal was a 5-on-3 power play goal.
