
JetHawks Fall Victim To Dominant Visalia Lefty

VISALIA, Calif. - The JetHawks managed just one run and struck out 13 times against Visalia Rawhide starter Josh Taylor in a 4-1 loss on Friday night at Recreation Park.
Taylor (2-5) struck out a career-high 13 hitters over seven innings without issuing a walk. The JetHawks (32-28) totaled six hits against the left-hander.
The Rawhide (39-21) got on the board in the first inning against starter Brock Dykxhoorn (4-2). Marty Herum reached on an infield hit with two outs and scored when Rudy Flores doubled off the base of the right field wall. Henry Castillo followed with a base-hit to score Flores.
Drew Ferguson doubled in the top of the second and scored on a Luis Reynoso single for the JetHawks' only run of the game.
Dykxhoorn allowed an unearned run in the fifth inning. He allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits over five innings. The right-hander struck out four and walked three.
The Rawhide added its final run against reliever Jacob Dorris in the sixth inning.
Kevin Commer tossed 1.2 perfect innings of relief with two strikeouts.
The clubs play game three of the four-game series on Saturday at Recreation Park. Scott Weathersby (2-3) will start for the JetHawks against Brad Keller (4-4). First pitch is 7 p.m.
