September 1, 2005 - California League (CalL1)
Lancaster JetHawks News Release
(Lancaster, CA) - For the sixth time in the ten year history of the Lancaster franchise, the JetHawks have qualified for post season play after clinching a playoff berth tonight. The JetHawks will face the High Desert Mavericks in the first round, best-of-three-game, Mini Series of the California League Playoffs. The JetHawks have clinched a wild card spot in the playoffs, however, Lancaster could still win the South Division title as the team sits only 3 ½ games behind the front-running Mavericks with five games to play. The two teams square off in a three-game series this weekend at High Desert.
Lancaster is guaranteed one home playoff game and could host up to seven home games if the club advances in the playoffs and/or wins the South Division second half title. As the wild card, the JetHawks would host game one of the first round Mini Series on Wednesday, September 7 at Clear Channel Stadium at 7:00 PM with games two and three scheduled to be played at Mavericks Stadium, as necessary, over the following two nights. If Lancaster wins the division title, game one would be played at High Desert and the series would shift to Lancaster for games two and three on September 8 and September 9.
Playoff tickets for the first possible home game of the mini series, to be played either on September 7 or September 8, will go on sale to the general public beginning Saturday, September 3 and will be priced as follows: $9 Dugout Box, $8 Box and $7 Reserved.
