Tri-City Americans News Release
KENNEWICK, WASH. - Tri-City Americans general manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 2008-born forward Jesse McKinnon to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. He was drafted 55th overall in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
"Jesse is a highly skilled offensive forward," stated Tory. "He also possesses leadership qualities that set him apart from others in the draft."
McKinnon, from St. Albert, Alberta, spent the 2022-23 season with the U15 St. Albert Saints and recorded 51 points (20-31-51) in 33 games. He then continued his offensive output into the playoffs with 15 points (7-8-15) in just eight playoff games.
The 5-foot-10 forward also had a strong showing during the Alberta Cup with seven points (3-4-7) in five games for Team Alberta Gold, tied for the team lead.
McKinnon is the third member of the Americans 2023 draft class to sign with the team, joining 13th overall pick Cruz Pavao and 35th overall pick Carter Kingerski.
