
Jesse Gonzalez Called in to Mexican U-23 National Team Camp

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas Homegrown player Jesse Gonzalez reported yesterday to a Mexican U-23 National Team camp based in Mexico City.
The camp runs through Wednesday, Feb. 10.
This is the second time Gonzalez, 20, has been called in by the Mexican U-23 Olympic Team this year. The squad is aiming to defend Mexico's gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics.
Mexico qualified for the 2016 Olympic tournament in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as one of two representatives from CONCACAF. El Tri won Group B in the October tournament. Mexico then topped Canada and Honduras by identical 2-0 scores in the semifinal and final, to earn the region's top seed in the Olympics.
The 2016 Summer Olympics are set to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, beginning on Friday, August 5.
