Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm brought in $2,358 in December with its Jerseys For A Cause campaign and is donating the money to the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Combined with $5,651 the hockey team collected in October and November, the Storm's total donation to cancer awareness organizations this season is $8,009.
Jerseys For A Cause, sponsored by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska, includes game-night drawings for specialty jerseys that were worn by players during the Storm's Pink In The Rink game earlier this season. The jerseys are given away at every home game, with a different organization each month receiving the proceeds.
Money from October and November games was given to Kearney Tackles Cancer and Relay For Life.
Other groups receiving donations from the Storm's Jerseys For A Cause program this season include Mary Lanning Hospital's Morrison Cancer Center in Hastings and Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation.
