
Jepsen Returns to Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY (August 29, 2008) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has activated right-handed pitcher Kevin Jepsen from the Temporary Inactive List as he has returned from winning a bronze medal with Team USA in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Jepsen, 24, appeared in four games for Team USA in Beijing, registering a 0.00 ERA while allowing no runs on three hits and striking out five in 5.2 innings of relief. He has appeared in 13 games for the Bees in 2008, owning a 1-3 record and 2.53 ERA with two saves. In 25 games for the Double-A Arkansas Travelers this season, he registered a 2-1 record with a 1.42 ERA and 11 saves. Jepsen was also named to Team USA for the 2008 All-Star Futures Game. The Anaheim, Calif. native was originally selected by the Angels in the second round of the 2002 draft.
The 2008 Pacific North Division Champion Salt Lake Bees continue the team's final regular season road trip tonight against the Tucson Sidewinders at 8:00 p.m. Playoff tickets for Friday, September 5 are on sale now at the Franklin Covey Field box office, at slbees.com and at select Ticket Master locations.
