JB Tucker Named Postseason All-Star

Grand Prairie, TX (08.26.08) - The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball today announced its 2008 Post-Season All-Star Team as voted upon by the 10 field managers and media representatives of the league. Grand Prairie had one member on the team with catcher J.B. Tucker making the squad.

Tucker, 26, batted .295 on the season with 11 homeruns and 47 RBI's. He led the AirHogs in doubles (24) and was second on the squad in homeruns and batting average.

The Bradenton, FL native hit 5-for-5 with a homerun in a game against Fort Worth back on 06/24. In the month of July he flashed a .344 batting average at the plate. He set a league record with 89 games caught, passing Kevin Sullivan of Lincoln who was behind home plate for 83 games back in 2006.

He split the 2007 season between the High Desert Mavericks of the California League and the Can-Am Grays of the Can-Am League. Originally, Tucker was signed as a non-drafted free-agent by the Seattle Mariners in 2005. He attended Mississippi State University and Wake Forest University.
