Grand Prairie 4, Fort Worth 2 (Grand Prairie Leads Series 2-0) @ Fort Worth, TX Time: 2:44 Attendance: 2,051 W: Geivy Garcia (2-0) L: Jon Hunton (0-1) S: James Morrison (2) HR: GP- Billy Munoz (1); FRW- Nilson Teilon (1) With the score tied 2-2 in the top of the ninth inning, Grand Prairie scored twice to defeat Fort Worth 4-2 and take a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-five South Division Finals. Facing Fort Worth's terrific closer Jon Hunton, LF Aaron Garza bunted for a hit to open the inning and stole second. With two out, SS David Espinosa hit a grounder to first that hit the bag and rolled into right field. Garza came around to score and Grand Prairie had a 3-2 lead. CF Drew Holder then followed with a bloop single to center that Cats CF Brian Fryer dove for but couldn't get. Espinosa scored on the play for a 4-2 lead. AirHogs closer James Morrison worked the bottom of the ninth and sealed the victory. After winning both games in Fort Worth, Grand Prairie now heads home for game three of the series which will be played Thursday. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Sioux Falls 7, Sioux City 1 (Sioux Falls Leads Series 2-0) @ Sioux Falls, SD Time: 2:38 Attendance: 1,948 W: Ryan Ford (1-0) L: Alexander Francisco (0-1) S: None HR: None Sioux Falls took a 2-0 lead in the North Division Finals with a 7-1 victory over Sioux City. After surrendering a run in the top of the first inning Canaries starter Ryan Ford kept the Explorers off the scoreboard for the next 6 2/3 innings. He allowed eight hits in the game but just the one run to earn the win. Sioux City starter Alexander Francisco pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed five earned runs on eight hits. The bottom of the batting order was the difference for Sioux Falls. The seven through nine hitters in the lineup combined to go 8-for-11 in the contest. 1B Patrick Reilly and C Paul Smyth set the table and SS Tim Hutting drove in five runs on a double and two singles as he finished 3-for-4.
