
American Association Announces 2008 Postseason All-Star Team

DURHAM, NC - The American Association of Independent Professional Baseball today announced its 2008 Post-Season All-Star Team as voted upon by the 10 field managers and media representatives of the league. The Fort Worth Cats and Sioux Falls Canaries both had three players selected to the team.
2008 POSTSEASON ALL-STAR TEAM (League leading statistics in parentheses):
CATCHER
JB Tucker, Grand Prairie AirHogs - Hit .295 with 11 HR, 47 RBI and 94 hits.
1ST BASE
Brandon Sing, Pensacola Pelicans - Hit .278 with 22 HR (1st), 86 RBI (1st) and a .553 slugging percentage (5th). *2-Time Player of the Week Recipient & May Player of the Month Recipient*
2nd BASE
Brenan Herrera, Wichita Wingnuts - Hit .317 (T-8th) with 116 hits, 27 doubles (2nd) and five triples.
SHORTSTOP
Kevin Hooper, Wichita Wingnuts - Hit .373 (1st) with 133 hits (T-1st), 34 stolen bases (2nd) and 73 runs scored (T-3rd).
3rd BASE
Grant Richardson, Sioux Falls Canaries - Hit .322 (6th) with 88 runs scored (1st), 71 RBI (T-3rd), 114 hits and 25 doubles (T-4th). *Player of the Week Recipient & June Player of the Month Recipient*
OUTFIELD
Brian Fryer, Fort Worth Cats - Hit .319 (7th) with 133 hits (T-1st), 50 stolen bases (1st) and 81 runs scored (2nd).
OUTFIELD
Brent Krause, St. Paul Saints - Hit .317 (T-8th) with 19 HR (T-3rd), 56 RBI, 112 hits and a .555 slugging percentage (4th).
OUTFIELD
Beau Torbert, Sioux Falls Canaries - Hit .324 (5th) with 19 HR (T-3rd), 71 RBI (T-3rd), 110 hits and a .568 slugging percentage (1st).
