Jackson, Tenn. - The Smokies (7-6) take game four of the series with the Diamond Jaxx (5-9), 6-2 in front of 2,834 at Pringles Park. The Diamond Jaxx spoiled some scoring opportunities in the third and eighth innings and now have dropped seven of their last eight games.

Jaxx starter, Luis Munoz tossed six innings for the second time in 2009, allowing only two runs on five hits. The Smokies would grab a run in the third and fourth innings and jump out to a 2-0 early lead.

The Jaxx would add two in the fifth inning to knot the game up. Ezequiel Carrera hit an RBI ground out to first scoring Javier Brito, who led off the inning with a single, which was followed by a double by Matt Mangini. Oswaldo Navarro would single to right bringing in Mangini, tying the game at two.

In the seventh, a throwing error by Matt Mangini at third would allow two runs to score for the Smokies and the guys from Kodak, TN would never look back. Tony Thomas hit a 2-run homer in the ninth to give Tennessee some breathing room as the Smokies cruised to a 6-2 victory.

A big moment in the game was in the eighth inning when the Jaxx loaded the bases on three consecutive singles by Carrera, Navarro and Marshall Hubbard. Smokies reliever, Vince Perkins sat down Adam Moore and Greg Halman on strikes, and then got a line out by Johan Limonta to end the inning.

Casey Coleman picked up the win for the Smokies and improves to 3-0 on the year. Nick takes the loss for the Jaxx dropping to 0-1.

The finale of the five game series comes your way on Friday night at 7:05 as the Jaxx will send out RHP Patrick Ryan (0-1, 21.00) who will making his second start of the year.
