MCALLEN, TEXAS - The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced Tuesday that guard Matt Janning (6-4, 198, Northeastern) is attending free agent workouts with the Miami Heat this week.
Janning opened the season with the Phoenix Suns before joining the Maine Red Claws. The Vipers acquired him in a trade in January. Overall, Janning averaged 9.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 41.6% from behind the arc in 41 games (10 starts). During the post-season, Janning averaged 13.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 42.3% from behind the arc in eight games (seven starts).
