
Jammers Thrash the Tigers

Jamestown, NY - The Jamestown Jammers (18-12) crushed the Connecticut Tigers (12-18) by a score of 3-2 Thursday night at Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Park. The Jammers scored three runs in the first inning highlighted by a two run single by DH Michael Fransoso (2-3) to take a 2-0 lead.
Jamestown starter LHP Jackson Lodge (3-1) picked up the win for the Jammers. Lodge was phenomenal as he pitched six scoreless inning and allowed only three hits and struck out three batters. Lodge retired the first 10 batters he faced before SS Curt Powell (1-4) singled to left field.
The Jammers added a five run fourth inning which gave them a 10-0 lead over the Tigers. CF Jeff Roy (3-4) sparked the Jammers with three hits, two RBI's and a run scored. As a team the Jammers had 10 runs on 12 hits.
The Tigers struggled at the plate as they went 7-35. The Tigers were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base. The fielding struggled also for the Tigers as they committed four errors on defense.
The Tigers and Jammers wrap up their three-game series tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. RHP Chase Edwards (0-0, 0.00) gets the start for the Tigers. RHP Isaac Sanchez (1-0, 4.09) starts for Jamestown. Pre-game radio coverage begins at 6:50 p.m. on AM 1310 WICH and online at www.cttigers.com.
The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play in the New York-Penn League. The Tigers are in their 4th season at Dodd Stadium.
