Jammers Split Doubleheader Against Muckdogs

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - The Jammers used strong performances by its starting pitchers to split a doubleheader against the Batavia Muckdogs. Jamestown won the first game, 3-1, and dropped the second game, 2-1.

Holden Sprague threw five innings of one-run ball to earn the victory in the first game. He struck out four batters in his first start since July 14th, and improved to 3-2 with the victory.

The Jammers supported him with a run in the second inning on Noah Perio's RBI double and two in the third. Danny Black's triple made it 2-0 and Marcell Ozuna's sacrifice fly made it 3-0.

Grant Dayton pitched a one inning and Jordan Conley pitched a scoreless seventh for his seventh save of the year.

In the second game, Luis Chirinos allowed one run in five innings. The Muckdogs tacked on a run in the sixth off Jeremy Heatley to make it 2-0.

The Jammers scored a two-out run in the bottom of the seventh on a wild pitch to make it 2-1. They had the potential tying and winning runs on base with two outs but Dallas Hord struck out to end the game.

Jamestown is now 1.5 games behind the Williamsport Crosscutters in the Pinckney Division and 1.0 game behind Batavia in the Wild Card race.
