Jam tryout camp breakdown

August 11, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Jacksonville Slam News Release

Jacksonville, FL. ABA Jacksonville Jam Coach Steve C. Tucker writes: Thus far we've held two tryout camps for our team. Both of these camps have been very good and have truly impressed all who have taken part. We are making great strides in showing everyone in Jacksonville and in pro basketball that our JAM mean business and will operate one of the elite and premiere teams in the ABA.

To have a successful camp you have to have an excellent coaching and help staff. We've had some outstanding coaches and workers help in making these camps truly outstanding and successful. I'd like to thank everyone who participated.

Most importantly, it is the players participating that make a tryout camp situation what it is and I compliment every player that attended our first two tryout camps. They've done an excellent job with their effort, attentiveness and execution. Here are some of the players who will be attending our Veterans Camp on October 15th.

Mario Brown, 6'9 power forward/center
Brad Clark, 6'5 off guard
Willie Sanders, 6'1 point guard
Antonio Lawrence, 6'7 combo forward
Aubrey Conerly, 5'11 point guard
Renaldo Norman, 6'3 off guard

There will be one more tryout camp in September which will be announced in the near future. For more information, visit www.jaxjam.com or www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
