March 1, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Jacksonville Slam News Release

Jacksonville, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jam Basketball team will change their day jobs and become the wait staff at the Golden Corral on Friday, March 2 in an effort to raise money to benefit Muscular Dystrophy.

From 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., all members of the team will wait tables at the restaurant's Mandarin location at 11470 San Jose San Jose Boulevard with all tips collected that evening going to Muscular Dystrophy.

"Reaching out to the community is important to all of us here at the Jam organization," stated Felix Krupczynski, the team's owner and General Manager. "We are committed to northeast Florida and becoming involved for a cause such as MD is natural for us," he added.

The Jacksonville JAM is in it's inaugural season in the American Basketball Association and is currently the #4 ranked team in the country. The Jacksonville Jam will play their final regular season home game this Sunday at the University of North Florida Arena. Tip-off is scheduled at 3:00 p.m.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
