Cape Cod Frenzy News Release
Orleans, MA: The Cape Cod Frenzy of the American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that dynamic point guard Ismael Caro has joined the team. The Frenzy hope Caro helps to curtail the recent turnover woes that have plagued the team in the last 6-7 games.
Caro is from Manchester, Connecticut and played his college ball at Creighton. At Creighton, he teamed with current NBA star Kyle Korver in leading the Bluejays to the 2002 NCAA Tournament where they upset Florida 83-82. His last two years of college where played closer to home, at the University of New Haven, with current Frenzy guard Jamaal Brooks. At New Haven Caro averaged 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists per game. He has plays professionally each Spring in Puerto Rico.
As one scout wrote of Ismael Caro: "A player who can do it all excels at getting to the basket and making plays for others. Can shoot from anywhere on the court, range is unlimited. Defensively very strong and quick and has a knack for getting to the ball--Very confident and upbeat player whose team always has a chance to win. Has ability to make everyone around him better as well as take over the game on both sides of the court. A Euroleague level type talent."
Caro will take the court this weekend for the Frenzy two final home games before traveling to Maryland to face Sun Ming Ming and the Nighthawks for two back to back road games to complete the regular season. Saturday the Frenzy get another shot at the Brooklyn Comets at 7:05 PM at Nauset Regional High School in Eastham. And Sunday at 6:05 PM, also at Nauset, the Frenzy face the defending ABA Champion Rochester Razorsharks who feature New Hampshire native, and former UVA Cavalier, Keith Friel.
