March 1, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Jersey Express News Release
The Newark Express defeated the Brooklyn Comets by a score of 81-75. Returning home after 2 difficult defeats, the Newark Express put together a 4th quarter surge that ultimately produced the final score.
Led by a backcourt of Marvin McCullough, and Johan Matos, Newark's smothering backcourt defense was key to the victory. McCullough also led the Express offensively, with a team high 19 points and 3 steals. Express forward Duquan Everett commanded the boards with a game high - 17 rebounds, 15 points, 3 steals and numerous deflections. The Comets were led by Donald Harrison with 22 points and 10 rebounds
Without 6'10 center Sekani Francis, who last week obtained a contract to play in Uruguay, and back-up Center Marcos Sanchez who was injured during Sundays contest, the smaller Express put together its most complete game of the season.
The Express will host the Quebec Kebs on Friday, March 2nd @ 7pm at Essex County College in Newark. This will be the 1st and only meeting of the season between the 2 teams. Purchase a ticket for Saturday night's game vs. the defending Champion Rochester Razorsharks, on Friday and receive an Express water bottle FREE (1st 50 paid fans).

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
