BAKERSFIELD, February 10, 2014 - The Bakersfield Jam (12-19) couldn't hold on to a 16-point second half lead and got defeated on the road Monday evening by the Springfield Armor (11-18), 116-109.

Jared Cunningham and Damion James paced the Jam in the opening quarter as each scored 11 points and helped Bakersfield obtain a 33-26 advantage after one quarter of play. Bakersfield remained ahead the entire second quarter and again outscored Springfield 33-26 to go up 66-52 at the break.

Second half was a different story as the Jam got outscored by 11 in the third quarter (35-24) and by 10 in the fourth (29-19). Adonis Thomas (21 points) and Darius Johnson-Odom (20 points) powered the Armor in the second half.

Overall, the Jam shot better from field (44.3%-42.6%), but lost the battle in rebounds (48-38), points in the paint (54-26), second chance points (24-13) and fast break points (20-10).

Cunningham finished with 26 points (14/16 FTs) while James posted 24 points and eight rebounds. James Nunnally had 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. JamesOn Curry and Renaldo Major each contributed 13 points off the bench.

Springfield was led by Adonis Thomas who played the entire game and had a game-high 33 points and 15 rebounds. Darius Johnson-Odom finished with 26 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals, while Willie Reed recorded 14 points and eight rebounds.

Bakersfield's two-game road trip concludes in Fort Wayne when they take on the Mad Ants on Wednesday, February 12 at 4:00 p.m. PST.
