HIDALGO, TEXAS, December 23, 2011 - Osiris Eldridge, Renaldo Major and Juan Pattillo all scored 20 points apiece as the Bakersfield Jam (7-4) defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (7-6) 105-97 tonight. The victory ends a four game losing streak to the Vipers, dating back to last season's playoffs.

The scoring in the first quarter was low as the Jam led 24-18 after the first 12 minutes. The two teams traded the lead seven times in the first half, the last two of which occurred midway through the second period. With the Vipers down one, Suleiman Braimoh hit a three-pointer to put RGV up 38-36 with 4:53 remaining in the half. The lead was short lived as Jeremy Wise nailed a three of his own on the next possession to put the Jam up 39-38 with 4:19 to play in the half. That lead change was the final one of the game. The Jam closed out the half on a 9-3 run and lead 55-46 at the intermission. Bakersfield led by as many as 16 points in the second half and the Vipers did not get closer than five points the remainder of the game.

Pattillo had the game's lone double-double as he added 11 boards, recording his third double-double of the season. Mustapha Farrakhan tallied 15 points while Wise chipped in with nine and a game high eight assists.

Julian Sensley led Rio Grande Valley in scoring this evening with 19 points. Braimoh and Ashton Mitchell contributed 17 points each off the bench.
