Bakersfield Jam News Release
(Bakersfield, Calif. - December 21, 2009) - In a Monday-morning trade with the Los Angeles D-Fenders, the Bakersfield Jam has acquired former University of Oklahoma center Longar Longar in exchange for forward/center Terrence Gamble.
In his second straight year playing for the D-Fenders, the 6'11", 230-pound Longar has contributed 6.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 20.1 minutes per game over seven games (three starts) for L.A. Those numbers are down only slightly from the 7.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and 22.3 minutes he averaged in 14 games for the team during the 2008-09 season.
"We are excited to add Longar Longar to our roster," said Jam Head Coach Will Voigt. "He gives us an even stronger interior presence, and we look forward to having him in uniform soon."
Gamble, a 6'11" forward/center out of Tarleton State, was Bakersfield's only returning player from the 2008-09 season and averaged 3.4 points and 5.7 rebounds in his seven games for the team in 2009-10.
The players won't have to wait long to face their former teams, as both are expected to be in uniform for Tuesday afternoon's tilt between the Jam and D-Fenders at the Staples Center.
