
Jake Cella Commits to Steelheads

The Mississauga Steelheads are pleased to announce the free-agent signing of Jake Cella. The Vaughan native has spent each of the last two seasons playing for the Newmarket Hurricanes of the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL).
The 5' 7", 165-pound defenceman recorded 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists) in 51 games this season. Head coach and general manager James Richmond thinks Jake is a great addition to the organization adding, "we are pleased to add Jake to the Steelheads organization after a very strong development camp last weekend. He's a versatile right-handed shot defenceman who gives us great organizational depth at the position."
Jake is the fourth offseason commitment received by the the Steelheads and the first free-agent signing. Already committed to the Steelheads are 2018 OHL Priority Selections James Hardie (first round), William Portokalis (second round) and Joe Ranger (fourth round).
The Steelheads are happy to welcome Jake and the entire Cella family to Mississauga.
