
Jacksonville hands Havoc first loss

HUNTSVILLE, AL â The Jacksonville Barracudas got second period goals from Brad Federenko and Greg Lecolst to pull away and hand the Huntsville Havoc their first loss of the season 5-3.
Federenko got the Barracudas on the board at the 9:24 mark of the first period. He was assisted by B.J. Stephens and Billy Rochefort.
Dan Buccella tied the game a 1-1 just one minute later on a power play goal with assists from Steve Howard and James Patterson.
Stephens added a power play goal with 5:05 left in the first and Tyler Perry scored two minutes later to give Jacksonville a 3-1 lead.
Luke Phillips scored his first goal of the season :15 letter to cut the lead to 3-2 heading into the second period.
Mike Degurse tied the game at 3-3 at the 11:36 mark of the second period before Jacksonville pulled away with the win.
Huntsville was whistled for 26 penalty minutes that gave Jacksonville eight power play opportunites.
Matt Carmichael suffered his first loss of the season after giving up five goals and making 22 saves. Mike Brusseau got the win allowing three goals and making 28 saves.
Huntsville is off until next Thursday when they travel to Knoxville. They will host the Winston-Salem Polar Twins next Friday and the Macon Trax next Saturday.
