
Jackson named to Team WHL for Canada-Russia Challenge

Seattle, October 26, 2007 - The Seattle Thunderbirds are pleased to announce defenseman Scott Jackson has been selected to play on Team WHL at the 2006 ADT Canada Russia Challenge.
The Challenge is a six-game series between a team from Russia and three teams from the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The CHL teams are comprised of players from each of the three leagues in the CHL, the Western Hockey League (WHL), the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). Team WHL will play their games against Team Russia on November 29 in Chilliwack, British Columbia, and November 30 in Kamloops, British Columbia.
Jackson was a second round pick, 37th overall, of the St. Louis Blues in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He is entering his fourth season in Seattle and has played 207 games with 13 goals and 50 assists for 63 points. Jackson has a plus/minus rating of plus-41 with 117 penalty minutes. Jackson played for Team WHL in one game of the Canada Russia Challenge in 2005 and had three assists.
The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL will host the first game of the ADT Canada Russia Challenge on November 20. The second game will be hosted by the Val d'Or Foreurs on November 21. The series shifts to the OHL when the Sarnia Sting host a game on November 23 followed by the Oshawa Generals on November 27.
The T-Birds hit the road to take on the Spokane Chiefs on Friday, October 27, at 7 p.m. The T-Birds are back home at KeyArena to face the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday, October 28, at 7:05 p.m. and the Tri-City Americans on Sunday, October 29, at 5:05 p.m.
