GAME NOTES: The WHEAT KINGS 6-game western road swing continues Friday night in CHILLIWACK against the Western Hockey League's newest entry, the CHILLIWACK BRUINS...This marks the one and only time this season that BRANDON will go up against STEPHANE LENOSKI and the BRUINS this season...BRANDON began the trip on Wednesday with a 3-2 Overtime Shootout loss to the defending champion GIANTS in VANCOUVER...BRANDON begins a busy weekend that will see the WHEATS play three games in three nights, with a record of 8-4-0-2, good for eighteen points and first place in the Eastern Division - two points up on the second place SWIFT CURRENT BRONCOS...BRANDON is now 0-2 in Shootouts this season...WHEAT KINGS road trip continues Saturday in KELOWNA before a game against the BLAZERS in KAMLOOPS on Sunday night...Wednesday's Shootout loss snapped a 4-game win streak, however, BRANDON has now gone seven consecutive games with at least a point (5-0-0-2)...BRANDON hasn't lost in regulation time since dropping a 3-1 decision to the KOOTENAY ICE on Thanksgiving weekend...The loss also snapped a 3-game winning streak on the road...WHEATS enter the weekend with a record of 3-3-0-1 on the road and own a 5-1-0-1 mark at the Keystone Centre...BRANDON is 6-2-0-2 in its last ten games and Wednesday's date with the GIANTS was its first against Western Conference teams this year...WHEATS are 5-2-0 against Central Division clubs and 3-2-0-1 vs. Eastern Division rivals...All 25 players on the WHEAT KINGS' roster made this grueling trip including defenc eman CHAD ERB, who has missed the past ten games with a shoulder problem

LAST GAME: Second year center ANDREW CLARK scored both goals in a losing cause against the GIANTS, who won the game on a TIM KRAUS Shootout tally (the only shooter to beat the two starting netminders)...CLARK'S second goal with just over four minutes remaining in regulation time sent the game into overtime...While CLARK beat VANCOUVER'S TYSON SEXSMITH twice, BRANDON'S other snipers - MARK DERLAGO, CODEY BURKI and JURAJ SIMEK were held off the scoresheet, with the exception of SIMEK'S third period assist...BRANDON'S league leading powerplay went 1-7 with the man advantage, while managing to kill off seven of 8 VANCOUVER powerplays...Netminder TYLER PLANTE, who made his 122nd career appearance to move into a tie w ith GEORGE MANELUK for sixth place on the club's all time list, stopped 31 shots while SEXSMITH made 25 saves.

OTHER MILESTONES: MARK DERLAGO surpassed the 100-point plateau (47-55-102) in his WHL career this past weekend...Defenceman DUSTIN KOHN, who is four points away from the century mark in his WHL career, played in his 200th career game on October 14th in SASKATOON...Captain TEEGAN MOORE is nine points away from the century mark....17-year old JOE CALIGIURI stopped 23 shots in backstopping BRANDON to a 3-2 win over the BLADES in SASKATOON on October 14th in the WHL debut of the former Manitoba AAA Midget League all star...TYLER PLANTE is three games shy of TREVOR KIDD, who occupies 5th place on the club's all time list for games played (125).

SCORING STATS: Club scoring leader MARK DERLAGO (11-10-21) had his career high 9-game point scoring streak snapped Wednesday. During the streak, he was 10-10-20 to move into 4th place in WHL scoring...CODEY BURKI (11-9-20) is fifth; rookie JURAJ SIMEK (9-10-19) and ANDREW CLARK (7-12-19) are tied for eighth...SIMEK, who is third in rookie scoring, has points in eleven of his 12 games this year...CLARK has points in six of his last seven (5-10-15)...DUSTIN KOHN (2-13-15) is third among WHL blueliners in scoring...BURKI has points in five of his last seven (7-4-11).

SPECIAL TEAMS: BRANDON continues to lead the WHL with a powerplay that is clicking at 29.7% (26-84)...Eight of CODEY BURKI'S eleven goals this season have come on the powerplay while MARK DERLAGO has scored six...Penalty killing, the WHEATS are 13th (82%)...RYAN REAVES has two shorthanded tallies...Through the first 14 games of the regular season, BRANDON has been shorthanded 42 more times than it has enjoyed the man advantage (3per game), which leads the league.

DID YOU KNOW? MARK DERLAGO, who was 6-9 in Shootouts last season, is 0-2 in 2006-07...BRANDON has been victimized for goals one six 5 on 3 powerplays...BRANDON has lost 23 man games to injury this year...WHEAT KINGS were 3-3-1 during their two west coast trips last winter and 1-3-3 two years ago...At +14 ANDREW CLARK remains among the league leaders...Afte r 14 games last season, BRANDON was 4-9-1...BRANDON recently traded the rights to MICHAEL PROUDLEY to the BRUINIS in exchange for a fifth round bantam draft choice.
