Martin Named CHL Goalie of the Month: Joel Martin was named the CHL's Goaltender of the Month for December where he went 5-0-1 with a 1.13 GAA and a.966 SV%. He gave up more than one goal only once - three vs. Arizona on December 27th.

Thinel Approaching CHL Record Books: Sebastien Thinel is three goals away (188) from cracking the CHL's Top 25 Career Goals Leaders and just entered the Top 25 Career Point leaders with 490.

Chasing Franchise History: Odessa's 2001-2002 team recorded the best record in franchise history of 47-11-6. This year's squad is five wins ahead of that pace. The 2001-2002 team was 28-10-5 through 43 games.

Hat Tricks This Season: Jeff Pierce scored the first hat trick of the season for the Jackalopes at Amarillo on October 23rd. Kenny Bernard netted one on December 13th at Amarillo. Mike Ramsay recorded one on January 27th at Rio Grande Valley. Odessa has won every game when they've scored a hat trick.

Power Play Streak: From October 20th to November 29th this season the Odessa Jackalopes scored a power play goal in 17 straight games.

Martin Highlights CHL All-Star Game: Goaltender, Joel Martin, was named the CHL All-Star Team's MVP during the All-Star Game after stopping 27 of 28 shots in the first period of the game. He is the first All-Star Game MVP in franchise history. The South Texas All-Stars won the game 9-4.

One-Man Band Heroics: Four different times this year, an Odessa Jackalopes player has scored the game-tying and shootout-winning goals in the same game. Collin Circelli did it twice against Corpus Christi on October 16th and at Laredo on November 20th. Brian Swiniarski did it on December 4th vs. Laredo. Mike Ramsay was the hero on January 27th at Rio Grande Valley.

GAME PREVIEW:

Last Game - Odessa Jackalopes: The Jackalopes has their eight-game win streak snapped on Satruday at the hands of the Arizona Sundogs in a shootout, 6-5. Collin Circelli had a pair of goals in the game for Odessa. Chad Hinz scored the shootout winner for the Sundogs in round five.

Last Game - Laredo Bucks: Laredo's struggles continue against Corpus Christi with a Saturday night, 6-3 loss. It was the Bucks sixth straight loss against the IceRays. The Bucks gave up four goals in the second period and two more in the third.

The Last 10: The Odessa Jackalopes are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games while the Laredo Bucks are 6-4-0.

Players to Watch: Odessa's Collin Circelli is on a six-game point streak with 10 points (five goals, five assists) during that span. Laredo's Darryl Smith has seven goals in the last five games for Laredo.

Beating the Best: This season the Jackalopes are 15-4-3 against teams with records over.500.

Jacks Work OvertimeAgain: Saturday's 6-5 shootout loss to Arizona was the third consecutive game for the Jackalopes that extended past regulation - tying a season-high. Odessa played three straight games into extra time from November 28th to December 4th.

Game Winning Variety: In each of Odessa's last seven wins, a different player has recorded the game-winning goal. That's the longest stretch of the season so far without a repeat game-winning goal scorer.

Upcoming Milestones: Tonight is the 700th game of Phil Plante's career. Dave Van Drunen is one goal away from the 50th of his career.

One-Goal Wonders: The Jackalopes lead the CHL with the most one-goal games in the league with 24. Odessa is 16-4-4 in one-goal games.

Winning Response: The Jackalopes have lost consecutive games just once this season. A loss to Laredo on December 5th and a shootout loss to Colorado on December 12th.

Bonus Hockey: Odessa leads the CHL in overtime and shootout games played this season with 14 combined. The Jackalopes are 10-4 this season after regulation.
