New Jersey Jackals News Release
Little Falls, NJ - All-star Isaac Pavlik baffled the Can-Am Grays through seven innings and Chris Rowan drove in four runs as the Jackals won their third in a row 7-1 at Yogi Berra Stadium.
Pavlik allowed only one run on four hits, including a stretch where he retired 10 Grays in a row. Striking out six and walking only two, Pavlik improved his record to 4-4 on the season. At the plate it was more of the same for the Jackals, as they've now outscored the Grays 26-3 through the first three games of the series. New Jersey jumped out to an early 2-0 lead behind Zach Smithlin and Ricardo Cordova's back-to-back hits to start the contest. Rowan's two-run double in the third increased the margin to 4-0, and a two-run single from Steve Checksfield highlighted a three-run fourth to finish up the scoring. Rowan finished 2-for-4 with a double and 4 RBI, and Checksfield tallied three hits of his own. Third baseman Tyler Brock was also superb at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a run scored.
For the Grays, it was Francisco Lebron leading the way with two hits and a run scored.
