New Jersey Jackals third baseman Seth Spivey ended the scoreless drought with an RBI single in the bottom of the eleventh to win 1-0, snapping the Trois-Rivieres Aigles six game winning streak on Wednesday afternoon.
New Jersey's pitching was dominant. Starting pitcher Yasmani Hernnadez gave up one hit in eight innings, striking out nine batters along the way. Vin Mazzaro picked up his second win of the year, firing a shut-out inning out of the bullpen.
Losing pitcher for Trois-Rivieres was Ethan Elias, bringing his record now to 3-7.
Game two of the double header will start at 7:05 pm.
