Can-Am League Game Recap
July 18, 2018 - Canadian American League (Can-Am) News Release
New Jersey 1, Trois-Rivieres 0 (Game 1 - 11 Innings)
New Jersey PR Dylan Brammer scored the game winning run on an infield hit by 3B Seth Spivey in the 11th inning as the Jackals defeated Trois-Rivieres, 1-0 in game one of a day-night doubleheader.
Andy Mocahbee, who pinch ran for C Kevin Torres, began the 11th inning at second base. The next batter, DH Dean Green, singled to right field to move Mocahbee over to third with no one out. After Green stole second, the following hitter, CF David Harris, was intentionally walked to load up the bases. First baseman Daniel Canela then hit a ground ball to the Aigles 1B Kevin Cornelius who immediately threw home to get Mocahbee out at the plate. With the bases still loaded, Brammer was called in to pinch run for Green at third. Spivey then came up and hit a sharp ground ball to Trois Rivieres 2B Taylor Oldham who could not make a play on the ball and allowed Brammer to score the winning run.
Spivey went 2-for-3 with an RBI while Harris collected three hits in four at-bats.
New Jersey pitcher Vin Mazzaro tossed a scoreless inning of relief to notch the victory. Mazzaro is now 2-2 on the year.
