New Jersey Jackals News Release

The New Jackals won both ends of a double header against the Quebec Capitales, with one of the victories coming in walk-off fashion.

Because there was a double header, Can Am League rules indicate that both games be played through 7 innings.

New Jersey picked up Isaac Wenrich and Sthervin Matos, who took right field after Demetrius Moorer landed on the IL. Justin Brantley started the game for the Jackals, and Dany Paradis-Giroux took the ball for the Capitales.

With the Jackals ahead 2-1 in the top of the 7th, the Capitales came back with two away and the bases loaded, when catcher Chris Shaw smacked a double scoring the tying run. Everything came to an end when Jackals second baseman Nelson Ward pulled the rabbit out of the hat, walking off the Capitales with an RBI single and winning the game for the Jack Pack by a score of 3-2.

Dylan Brammer got the win and Seth Davis obtained the loss.

Game 2 saw Nick Bozman and Vladimir Garcia lock horns in hopes of clinching a victory. Despite Quebec scoring two in the first inning, the Jackals hammered home six runs in the 2nd, three of them coming from Sthervin Matos' first home run donning the red and black. Although the Caps squeaked home a run in the 3rd, the Jackals again notched six runs in the fifth, extending their lead to nine.

In the end, New Jersey won 12-4 with Reece Karalus getting the victory. The Jackals will play Quebec tomorrow at 7:05.
